Overview

Sleep Utility is a simple menu bar utility for macOS that schedules sleep, shutdown, restart, or logout operations. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

Data Collection

Sleep Utility does not include advertising or behavioral analytics. Timer actions and preferences remain on your Mac.

The direct-download edition connects to Zetegy services only to activate and periodically validate a license, and to check for software updates. License requests may include the license key, a one-way device identifier, the app version, and basic device metadata needed to manage the licensed devices. The Mac App Store edition uses Apple for purchase validation and updates.

Purchases on zetegy.com are processed by Stripe. Zetegy does not receive full payment-card details. Stripe processes purchase and contact information according to its own privacy policy. License email and purchase records are retained as needed to deliver and support the purchase.

Local Data Storage

Sleep Utility may store minimal configuration preferences locally on your Mac using the standard macOS preferences system. This data includes:

Your preferred timer settings
Application preferences and settings

Timer preferences never leave your device and are stored using Apple's standard UserDefaults system.

Third-Party Services

Depending on where you obtain the app, Sleep Utility uses Apple or Stripe for payment, Zetegy licensing services for direct-build activation, and Sparkle with Zetegy-hosted files for direct-build updates.

Children's Privacy

Sleep Utility is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
